A total of 34 fourball teams from across the grain value chain played in GOSA’s annual golf day on 3 September at Serengeti Estates. Although a bit windy at times, good weather conditions marked the day.
Finishing with 96 points, the Bextrans team was crowned as winners of this year’s GOSA golf day. GHtech was in second place, followed by a team from Bester. Ronin Inventory Management Systems ended in fourth place and Klerkscale in the fifth position. The VKB Group Wildehonde team had the longest day.
GOSA president, Johan van Rensburg, commended all participants for playing in the organisation’s fifth annual golf day, and thanked the sponsors for their continued support. Serengeti Estates was once again home to this very popular event.
On the fun side of things, a competition for the best dressed team was introduced this year. Although the uniformity of the National Fumigants and Agricoal teams caught the eye, Graintrade received the accolades as winners in this category.
The winning team from Bextrans: Francois Bekker, Dico Lourens, Stefan Blommaert and Kosie Smuts.
Sybrand Eksteen was closest to the pin on hole 5. GOSA board member, Rinus Bezuidenhout was there to congratulate him.
Closest to the pin on hole 9, was Kosie Smuts.
Arnold Fortmann was closest to the pin on hole 12.
Migal Engelbrecht, who was nearest to the pin on hole 15.
JC Jooste showed off the longest drive on the 3rd hole.
The longest drive on the 11th hole belonged to Robert Stephenson.
Graintrade was the best dressed team of the day. They were Johann Kruger, Jupy Swanepoel, Merwe Snyman and Cornel Saunders.
